VON DG, APC Dismiss Igbo Leaders Endorsing Atiku’s

PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku
According to reports, the All Progressives Congress and the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Mr Osita Okechukwu, have said the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, by some Igbo leaders as an affront to the people.
The APC,  in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu,  on Thursday said the Igbo had fared better under the Muhammadu Buhari government compared with the PDP’s 16 years in power.“It is an affront to the good people of the South-East who were frontline victims of the 16 years of the PDP ’s misrule. It will be interesting to know what the PDP will be telling the Igbo during the campaign.

“The South-East people have three and half years of visible progress in terms of massive infrastructure and the thousands of common people who are benefiting from the social programme investments to compare to the PDP’s 16 years of retrogression.
“We in APC are confident that the Igbo won’t be fooled by any group, by whatever name, to sell a thoroughly discredited party like the PDP to them.”
Okechukwu,  in a separate statement,  said the endorsement of Atiku was not in the best interest of the Igbo.
He said, “However, one can say that we have a fair share on Grade A ministers. Buhari, in addition,  did better in execution of critical of infrastructure with little resources in less than four years than the  PDP with humongous resources in 16 years.”
