Suspended NHIS Boss Sues Health Minister, AGF, Agency Executive Secretary of the NHIS, Prof. Usman Yusuf As recalled the suspended controversial boss  of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Prof. Usaman Yusuf, has sue the Attorney general of the Federation, The Agency and Minister for Health. According to reports from Punch, the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf, has sued the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and the NHIS over his suspension by the governing council of the board. In the suit with the number, FHC/ABJ/CS/1220/2018 filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, which was obtained by The  PUNCH , Yusuf asked the court to rule among others that the governing council of the NHIS had no powers under the provisions of the NHIS Act to suspend him from office. Yusuf instituted the suit through his lawyer, Uchechukwu Obi (SAN), on Monday.

Photo: Chidiebube Okeoma The alleged kidnappers that kidnapped the corps members on 23rd of October 2018 has  been caught by the Imo State police.  According to reports from Punch, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command has arrested the alleged kidnappers of five corpers. The victims were kidnapped on the Umuapu axis of the Owerri/Port Harcourt expressway on October 23 on their way to the NYSC orientation camps in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states. Their kidnappers had accosted the vehicles they were travelling in. The policemen who were on duty around the area of the incident intervened and rescued the victims same day. The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, told our correspondent on Wednesday that the suspects were arrested following investigation which was launched on the abduction.  UNILAG Graduating Student Dies After His Final Exams   A graduating student of UNILAG,  has died after his finial exam raising serious controversy.  According to a report by PUNCH Metro, Adeniyi Ogundijo, the death of a 400-level student of the Department of Microbiology, University of Lagos, has continued to generate controversy.   While some claimed that the 22-year-old committed suicide over poor performance in his final exams, his friends and family members said he was killed.   The school authorities, however, urged everyone to stop speculating on the cause of his death, saying the family kept mum when questioned by the management.   PUNCH Metro reports that some suspects had been arrested by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for interrogation.   It was also learnt that Ogundijo’s corpse had been deposited in a morgue pending the outcome of an autopsy.   The deceased and his course mates were said

Minimum Wage: Labour Rejects Governors’ N22,500 Offer According to report by Thisday, the dispute over workers’ quest for an upward review of minimum wage in the country became protracted yesterday as the nation’s 36 governors emerged from their meeting in Abuja and said they had agreed to N22,500 as the lowest pay cheque for workers. Tragedy: SUV  Falls Into A River In Abuja  The accident scene   A Lexus SUV has loses control and fallen into a river in Abuja, one person died.   According to a report from Punch Metro, a young man, identified as Kingsley, has lost his life after a Lexus SUV lost control and fell into a river behind  EFAB Estate, Lokogoma District, Abuja, on Monday.   Two other occupants of the vehicle survived the crash which occurred in the morning after the SUV fell off a narrow bridge and landed on its back in the flooded river.   Northern City News reports that residents rushed to the scene and rescued the occupants, but Kingsley, who was the first to be rescued, inexplicably returned to the water and was swept away.   His body was found later in the afternoon by divers.   An eyewitness, who identified himself as Patrick, said he was in his room when he heard a loud noise from the scene, adding that some residents said they saw the driver on top speed before the c
