Minimum Wage: Organised Labour Holds Crucial Meeting NLC President, Mr. Ayuba Wabba According to reports,  the Organised Labour says it will meet on Thursday to take a final decision on the new National Minimum Wage for workers, following the delay by the Federal Government to announce its figure. Mr Ayuba Wabba, President, Nigeria Labour Congress, made this known in an interview with the  News Agency of Nigeria  on Wednesday in Abuja. NAN  reports that Senator Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, had said there was no agreement yet by the Tripartite Committee on the new National Minimum wage figure in the country. Eurobonds: FG Approves Six Transaction Parties for $2.78bn   President Muhammadu Buhari According to reports, the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved six transaction parties to advise the Federal Government on the issuance of $2.78 billion Eurobonds and other securities in the International Capital Market. The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari. According to the minister, the transaction parties are Citigroup Global Market Limited, Standard Chartered Bank as joint manager; FSDH Merchant Bank Limited as the financial adviser; White And Case LLP, Banwo and Ighodalo as legal adviser and Africa Practice Limited as technical adviser on communication. She said the approval was part of government’s commitment to the implementation of the 2018 Appropriation Act. Details later…

Two Policemen, Civilian kill in Kaduna by Gunmen Web image The Kaduna State Police Command, has  confirmed the killing of two policemen and a civilian by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday in Kaduna State. The Command Public Relation Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Yakubu Sabo, told the  News Agency of   Nigeria  that the policemen were on foot patrol when they were killed at 05: 25 am. “Some unknown armed men attacked our policemen who were on foot patrol along Nnamdi Azikiwe expressway by IBBI company in  Kakuri area of Kaduna State. “After a fierce gun duel, two of our men and a civilian driver were killed and five other policemen sustained gun injuries and are receiving treatment at a hospital in Kaduna State,” Sabo said. Senate Begins Probe Of $3.5bn Subsidy Funds Being Managed By 'Only Two People In NNPC' According to Saharareporters, the Senate has commenced investigation into the $3.5billion spent under the ‘Subsidy Recovery Fund’ of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). A point of order raised by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, during the plenary session on Tuesday, cited a newspaper article that said the fund was earmarked as subsidy recovery funds by NNPC. Olujimi highlighted the peculiarities of the fund, but noted that it was being managed by only two individuals in the NNPC "without appropriation and without recourse to any known law of the land".
