Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Arrive Nigeria (Photos) UK’s Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have arrived in Nigeria on the third leg of their  West African tour. They arrived in Abuja on Tuesday and were welcomed with a military parade at the airport. Prince Charles inspected the guard of honour. They started their tour in The Gambia, stopped over in Ghana, before heading to Nigeria.

It has been reportedly that an Italian boxer, Christian Daghio, has died after he was knocked unconscious during a fight in Thailand. The 49-year-old, who had won seven world titles during his career, was knocked out twice in the final round of his WBC Asia title fight against Don Parueang last month, reports  Metro UK. After his second knockdown, Daghio was immediately treated by medical staff inside the ring but didn’t get up. He was subsequently taken to hospital in Bangkok where he spent two days in a coma before he died. “He died as he wanted to die,’ Daghio’s brother, Fabrizio, told  Il Resto del Carlino . “I have no regrets because he was like that. He said he wanted to fight until he was 80.” “The ring was his life and he died as a champion. “My brother had a girlfriend in Thailand and a five-year-old girl,” he added.

Sentor Ekweremadu, Wife, and Son Escape Assassination Attempt Ike Ekweremadu It has been reportedly that the Deputy Senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, wife, and son escaped an assassination attempt in the early hours of Tuesday. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Uche Anichukwu, the incident occurred at about 4am on Tuesday at their Apo Quarters residence in Abuja. The armed men were said to have evaded the security and entered the Deputy Senate President’s home, reports  Channels Television. One of those, who broke into Ekweremadu’s home was, however, arrested. According to Anichukwu, the arrested member of the gang refused to divulge any information on the operation. Building Collapse, Eight Feared Dead As many as eight people might have died in the southern French city of Marseille in two building collapses, officials said Tuesday after the first body was pulled out from the wreckage. Rescuers worked throughout the night to look for victims in the rubble of two dilapidated apartment blocks which collapsed suddenly on Monday morning not far from the centre of the Mediterranean port city. Also arrested were their accomplices, Obinna Ofoma, 25; Ndukwa Junior, 22; William Okon, 22; and Tony Oluchukwu, 28, for alleged involvement in the robbery.
