Ethiopian PM Fills Half of Cabinet with Women Abiy's reforms include welcoming back formerly banned groups into the country (AFP Photo/YONAS TADESSE) According reports, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday unveiled a downsized cabinet where, in a first, half the members are women, a top official said. Women occupy key positions in the 20-member cabinet that includes a newly created Ministry of Peace to oversee the federal police and intelligence agencies, Abiy’s Chief of Staff Fitsum Arega said. “Women are assigned to run key ministerial portfolios including ministries of Peace, Trade and Industry, and Defence,” he tweeted. The new Minister of National Defence, Aisha Mohammed, is the first woman to hold the post. Minister of Peace Muferiat Kamil is the former speaker of parliament.  Lagos Police Seize Gun From Mavin Records' DJ Big N    DJ Big N before and during the event at the night club   According to the video and story making the rounds on social media, Mavin Records’ official disck jockey, DJ Big N was allegedly arrested by the Police at Lounge38 in the Surulere area of Lagos, on October, 7, 2018.   According to multiple online reports, the DJ was apprehended after some security operatives wrestled with him to seize a gun he allegedly shot in the air during a fight at the club.   Eyewitnesses reveal that trouble started when a fight broke out between DJ Big N’s friend and another guy. It was gathered that singer, Dr Sid came around to settle the fight, but was unable to.   As the fight continued, DJ Big N was alleged to have gone into the white vehicle in the video and brought out a pump action rifle. ‘EFCC I’m Here’ –Fayose says via customised T-Shirt According to reports from Punch, the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has arrived at the Abuja office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Fayose entered into the EFCC office in Wuse 2 in the company of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode. Fayose, who wore a customised T-shirt emblazoned with “EFCC I’m Here” over a pair of jeans and a face cap, went into the Commission with a bag pack. Addressing journalists at the Commission, Fayose alleged that the EFCC deployed its men in his home, even when he had shown willingness to honour the Commission’s invitation. Also speaking, Wike and Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), asked the Commission not to abuse the former governor’s rights. Fani-Kayode, who also spoke with EFCC detectives, joked that he was a regular customer of the Commission and asked them not to maltreat Fayose.

A Young Footballer Collapses And Dies 10 Minutes Into T The young man died during training   A young footballer has been reported dead, he passed away in front of his teammates while participating in a training session.   The local footballer who was identified as Hyacinth Siadia from Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, reportedly collapsed and died on the pitch during training yesterday.   Local reports show that Hyacinth's teammates thought he was joking after he collapsed 10 minutes during warm up and continued to lie down. After a while, the officials tried to resuscitate him on the pitch but it was already too late.   His corpse has been deposited at a mortuary and his family notified of the sad incident.

Fani-Kayode, Supporters Arrive EFCC for Fayose Governor Ayodele Fayose According to reports from Punch, scores of supporters have arrived at the Wuse 2 office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to support former Governor Ayodele Fayose.
