Professor   Commits Suicide Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi Professor working in Federal University of Agriculture has committed suicide. According to Punch, a Professor of Biological Science with the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Frank Onyezili has committed suicide. Our correspondent learnt that the don who left a note behind might have killed himself over family problems. A source from the institution told our correspondent that the aged professor at a time complained of being abandoned by his family. The source said, “One thing I noticed is that the don had been complaining of not having adequate care and he was aging.” The Director of Information of the institution, Chief Mrs Waku Roseline, confirmed the unfortunate incident and added that the police should be in possession of the suicide note. The government has closed all nightspots until further notice. In spite of having been wracked by years of bloody civil war, South Sudan’s capital has dozens of nightclubs where people can try and forget the country’s woes with dance and drink.Reggae, hip-hop and Sudanese music are all commonly played at such venues. It was unclear who was responsible for Monday’s shooting, but armed groups have targeted nightspots in the past.

Kaduna Relaxes Curfew, Residents get Four-Hour Window to Restock El Rufai According to reports from NAN, the Kaduna State Government has eased off the 24-hour curfew on Kaduna metropolis, giving residents between 1pm to 5pm  “to restock on essentials”. Mr Samuel Aruwan the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity said in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna, made available to  News Agency of Nigeria . Aruwan however said that the window did not include residents of Kabala West, Kabala Doki, Sabon-Tasha, Narayi and Maraban Rido where the 24-hour curfew still remains in place. According to him, the decision was the outcome of the State Security Council meeting held on Tuesday. File photo According to reports from Punch,  no fewer than nine persons were feared dead  on Tuesday in an accident involving a Mercedes-Benz Marcopolo bus and an Iveco truck at Aseese area of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Clement Oladele, confirmed the figure  to the  News Agency of Nigeria   in Abeokuta. Oladele said that the accident was caused by speeding by the driver of the bus marked SMK 867 XG. He said that the bus lost control and collided with the parked truck with registration number AAA XP at 5:30am. “A total of 42 persons were involved in the accident; they comprised 34 males and eight females. “Three male and two female adults were injured while seven male and two female adults died,” he said.
