Aviation Unions Shut Down Murtala Muhammed International Airport2 Lagos, Passengers Stranded Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos According to NAN reports ,Hundreds of passengers were on Wednesday stranded as protesting aviation unions shut down operations at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited. The  News Agency of Nigeria  reports that the unions embarked on the protest alleging that BASL’s sacked 20 employees who indicated their interests to join trade unions. The protesting unions are the National Union of Air Transport Employees, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers.As early as 6am, the union members, who defied the rain, barricaded the entrance to the MMA2. BREAKING: Agbi dies at 73, Former Nigerian Ambassador to Greece,                                                                                Prof. Oludare Agbi According punch metro reports, A professor of history and former Nigerian Ambassador to Greece and Australia, Prof. Oludare Agbi, died this morning after a brief illness. Agbi, who was the chairman of the Elders Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, died at the age of 73. Family sources said the late PDP chieftain slumped in his house in Akure, the state capital, and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he later died. Prof. Agbi was said to have died of an undisclosed health problem. He was one of the delegates at the just concluded national convention of the PDP held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, over the weekend.

18 Years Old Girl in Delta Community Swept Away by Flood  The community A ccording Daily Sun reports, Igbide Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has thrown into mourning following the discovery of the lifeless body of an 18-year girl identified as Oghenekioja Okporie in flood water. The deceased SSS Two student of Igbide Community Crammer School was said to have boarded a boat on her way from the farm but boat capsized and she could not swim her way to safety. She accompanied her mother to the family cassava farm which had been overran by surging flood water on the fateful day. The sack, THISDAY gathered, was due to financial constraints, which the company has faced lately. A source close to the airline told THISDAY that those affected include engineers, pilots and crew which constitute almost 40 percent of its work force.  Reports also indicted that the airline served the dismissed staff their letter of disengagement last week Friday October 5, 2018.
