Just In: Ex Gov. Nyame’s 14-year Jail Term Reduces To 12, Adds N525m Fine by Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday reduce the 14-year  imprisonment imposed by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu, Abuja on a former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, earlier this year, to 12 years.
Justice Abdul Aboki-led three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, in addition to the 12-year sentence, also imposed a fine of total sum of N525m on the convict, a fine that the lower court had omitted while dispensing the earlier sentence.

Man Dies During Mansion Baptism In Ghana(Video) The man during baptism   A 20- year- old man by name Yaw Kyeremeh, has drowned while undergoing mansion baptism  by a pastor in a river south of Ghana’s capital, Accra, BBC reports.   video circulating on social media, Yaw Kyeremeh is seen stationed at the banks of River Densu together with a pastor who immersed him in the water.  Then after brief prayers he was immersed a second time but he did not emerge from the waters.   The Accra Regional Police Command spokeswoman Afia Tenge told the BBC a junior pastor had been arrested at the scene while police were still searching for the head pastor of the church involved in the baptism.   This has has led many people to question why a life should be lost during a religious ritual.   The man’s family is quoted by local media as saying that it does not blame anyone for the drowning.   The Police said his body has...
