According to Punch Metro Reports Abed Chidi Onyeyiri,Owerri, Imo State, +2348035428: This is a clarion call to the Federal Government to ensure that strict sanctions are applied to state governors who are owing workers’ salaries and/or pension gratuities.
Since a worker deserves his wages, it baffles many Nigerians why state governors upon receipt of their monthly federal allocation will still refuse to pay salaries. The worst hit state is Imo, where the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, is owing six months salaries and over 60 months of pension gratuities to retirees.
We laud a proposal made recently by the Federal Ministry of Finance to block access of erring governors from accessing remaining USD $2.69bn Paris Club refund.
